Nicolas Baier (born 30 November 1967 in Montreal) is a Canadian visual artist (Canadian).
Photographer, sculptor and painter, he was introduced in 2014 as one of the ten most important contemporary artists of Quebec1.
His works are freed of the usual landmarks of perception to better attach to things as they seem in themselves. His work questions the mediation process, abstraction and conceptual approaches to the heart of scientific, philosophical and artistic.
Nicolas Baier often using new technology, scanner, digital photography, image editing software, 3D printing, laser cutting. He draws some of its inspiration from cutting edge discoveries and research tools of basic science and the "Big Science".
He participated in fourty group exhibitions and thirty solo exhibitions in galleries and Canadian museums among the most prestigious. His works are found in most major public and private collections in Canada.
He is currently represented by Division Gallery.
